OnePlus launches OnePlus Pad 3, 2025’s must have tablet

Global technology brand OnePlus today officially launched OnePlus Pad 3, its latest flagship tablet, and in doing so completely redefined the Android tablet market for 2025. The tablet, which goes on sale on 19th June, merges supercharged hardware with smart software and AI features to create the ultimate tablet experience.

A design that goes down a Storm

OnePlus Pad 3 is designed to be utterly captivating to hold. Measuring less than six millimeters thin, OnePlus Pad 3 has been developed with an all metal unibody design that ensures its super strong and bend resistant. It also features eight symmetrically placed speakers – four woofers and four tweeters – to give a truly immersive audio experience, while the newly redesigned rear camera, which has been moved from a central position to the corner, gives the OnePlus Pad 3 a fresh look for 2025. 

On the front of OnePlus Pad 3 is OnePlus’s best ever tablet display. Measuring 13.2 inches with a 3.4k resolution, 12-bit colour depth and pixel density of 315 PPI, it’s perfect for displaying everything from the latest blockbuster to your latest work presentation. And its unique 7:5 aspect ratio means multitasking is an absolute breeze too.

Hardwearing hardware

OnePlus Pad 3 utilises the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Mobile Platform, one of Qualcomm Technologies’ most powerful and fastest mobile system-on-a-chip. It’s paired with either 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage or 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, giving you everything you need for high end working or high end gaming. So you can game even longer, the tablet is equipped with a powerful cooling system which uses vapor chambers made of a graphene composite material to dissipate heat better than competing tablets. 

Powering all of this hardware is an absolutely massive 12,140 mAh battery, so large it’ll play super high-end AAA games for up to 6 hours, play short videos for more than 15 hours, and play long videos for more than 17. It will stay on standby for 70 days and will hold its charge for more than two full years if switched off. The powerful 80W SUPERVOOC charging means a ten minute charge will give users an extra 18% battery.

OxygenOS and Open Canvas

OnePlus Pad 3 ships with OxygenOS 15, the latest version of OnePlus’s lauded operating system, which comes with all the features, functions and AI tools OnePlus users love. That includes productivity features like AI Writer and AI Summarize, designed to make writing, translating and summarising documents easier, as well as creativity functions like a wide range of photo customisation tools and Google AI features like Gemini and Circle to Search.

OnePlus Pad 3 also comes with Open Canvas, the best way of multitasking on a tablet, which has also been upgraded since OnePlus Pad 2. That means an improved system level drag and drop update and a new way of split screen working. So if you’re trying to arrange a meetup with a group of friends and find yourself flicking between the group chat and a maps app, OnePlus Pad 3 will suggest you simply split your screen between the two apps instead. 

A new keyboard, a stylish stylus and a converting case

OnePlus Pad 3 is even better when paired with its friends. The new OnePlus Pad keyboard now has larger, spaced out keycaps that give a PC-style feel, as well as including a range of useful command keys and a new dedicated AI button, while still retaining the same massive trackpad. It can also be adjusted to between 110 and 165 degree angles and continues to support NFC transfers and instant magnetic connection while even being a little bit lighter than the last one too.

OnePlus Pad 3 also pairs with OnePlus Stylo 2 and recognises every single one of its 16,000 different levels of pressure. OnePlus Pad 3 also uses the stylus in new ways – simply swipe the pen down in the upper right corner of the display and you can automatically annotate what’s displayed on the tablet, plus if the display is off a simple tap with OnePlus Stylo 2 will instantly take you to the shorthand notes page, perfect for that quick scribble.

Finally, the new tri-folding design of the OnePlus Pad 3 folio case means it’s as stable as a mountain at any angle. Fold the case up into a traditional triangle for a super steady 20 degree angle, perfect for drawing, writing or taking notes. Move to the new triangular folded design and OnePlus Pad 3 adopts a 44 degree angle, allowing for inclined viewing when looked at head on. And for even higher angles, fold the case into its Y shape for 60 and 72 degree viewing angles for even clearer reading. Whichever angle users pick, they’re guaranteed easy use and easy access. And when they’re done, just close the case and OnePlus Pad 3 will automatically switch off. Finally, the new magnetic buckle also means the case protects OnePlus Stylo 2, helping to avoid any awkward moments rooting around in a bag.
