EE has upgraded 5G coverage across the UK in time for the traditionally busy festive shopping period. With many Christmas markets opening for the first time since Covid, high streets are expecting an increase in festive shoppers, providing a welcome boost to small traders and their customers, who rely on a fast, reliable network to support contactless payments.
Among the latest locations to receive coverage as part of a UK wide expansion of the network is Padstow, rated as the best Christmas market for food. Other locations boasting the best Christmas Markets, as rated by the Radio Times, to receive EE’s 5G boost ahead of the festive period include:
- Birmingham (home to the Frankfurt Christmas market)
- Edinburgh (home to the Edinburgh Christmas Market)
- Nottingham (home to Winter Wonderland)

- Manchester (home to various Christmas markets)

EE has also added more than 150 new locations to its 5G network. 5G is now delivering faster mobile network speeds to communities beyond dense urban areas, allowing a growing number of towns to benefit. and EE remains the only network to apply coverage criteria before announcing a new location, ensuring customers can trust 5G coverage is available across a significant proportion of any announced location.
