realme Europe announce new CEO

Madhav Sheth appointed as the new CEO of realme Europe

August 27th 2020 – realme, the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand, announces the appointment of Madhav Sheth as new CEO of realme Europe. Sheth will thus occupy the position of Vice-President of realme and CEO of realme India and Europe.

In this new stage, he will lead market operations management, business and product strategy development and initiatives to help create the brand image, amongst other activities.

Madhav joined OPPO in 2017 as Sales Director, from which position he played an essential role in the growth of the brand’s offline channels. Thanks to the good results achieved and his great determination, in May 2018 he joined Sky Li to found realme and launch the brand first in India.

His dedication and efforts have led the brand to quickly become India’s 2nd largest mobile phone brand in online sales and fourth in smartphones. The business plans have always been in line with the target of equipping every Indian with a realme smartphone.

Speaking of his new role, Madhav said “Thrilled and excited. Europe will be our next key growth driver after Asian Pacific markets. We are working closely with our partners to expand our footprints both online and offline.”

The award was won by Mr. Madhav Sheth. The awards recognized and felicitated the brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators, and change-makers.

One of Madhav’s goals in this new stage is to position realme among the Top 5 smartphone brands in Europe, for both online and offline channels and, over the next year, to make it a favored “Tech Trendsetter” brand for young people all over Europe.

Good results in the first half of 2020

Since July, realme has surpassed the figure of 40 million users worldwide. The company is continuing to expand globally and is already present in 59 markets in the world, with the exception of North America.

These data are yet another indication of realme’s fast growth, after managing to hold the seventh position in the global classification during the first quarter of 2020.

In addition, it has recently been revealed that in the first half of 2020, the company grew by 11% in the second quarter of the year, becoming the only one to record a positive, two-digit figure, and it was considered by Counterpoint to be the smartphone brand with the fastest growth during four consecutive quarters.

Counterpoint also informed in the first quarter that realme was one of only two brands to achieve growth – 157% year-over-year.
