Xiaomi Mi11 Ultra to launch in the UK

Xiaomi have had a two day event announcing some new killer smartphone technology to the world, and one of the biggest is the camera powerhouse we now know as the Xiaomi Mi11 Ultra.

With the name Ultra you already know it will offer some of the best specifications in the market, and you are not wrong with what has now topped DXO Mark being the best performing camera on any smartphone to date jumping in at No1.

The Mi11 Ultra offers a large AMOLED screen at 6.81 inches with a 120hz refresh rate, also the design is pretty much all screen apart from the small cutout for the front facing 20 megapixel selfie camera making it great for watching content on.

The main area of this device is the camera setup thanks to the largest sensor on any smartphone, a Samsung GN2 1/1.12 inch one at that bringing with it incredible detail in both daytime and night time shots.

The main camera is 50 megapixels using the new sensor, plus you also get a 48 megapixel ultra-wide camera as well as a 48 megapixel periscope camera which allows for 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom and an incredible 120x digital zoom.

Another trick this phone has is the small display on the back which can be used for showing notifications as well as using as a viewfinder allowing you to use the rear camera for taking better selfie photos if you wanted too.

Whilst the other main specs include of a 5000mAh battery, 67W fast charging both wired and wireless, 5G support, a Snapdragon 888 Processor, 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage, this is one spec monster phone and will be a tough act to follow from the competition

At present there is no price confirmed for this and the only information right now is that it WILL be coming to the UK in Late April, so not long to wait.

Let your inner filmmaker out with an outstanding pro-grade triple camera array  

Mi 11 Ultra marks a major milestone in professional smartphone photography continuing the pioneering legacy of Mi 10 Ultra. The pro-grade triple camera array features ultra-powerful hardware which combined with advanced software earned it the top spot in DXOMARK rating. 

The device‘s 50MP primary camera uses the largest smartphone camera sensor currently on the market, Samsung’s GN2. This high-end sensor jointly developed by Xiaomi and Samsung is the first to reach 1/1.12″ in size, and is capable of producing staggering 4-in-1 2.8μm Super Pixels. Powered by Xiaomi’s very own enhanced night photography algorithm it is capable of effortlessly capturing bright and detailed images with as little as 0.02 lux of light. Mi 11 Ultra is also the first Xiaomi smartphone to adopt a multi-point direct Time-of-Flight laser focus system that features an accurate 64 zone depth map, allowing it to focus faster, more accurately and with a wider field of view. 

Mi 11 Ultra comes equipped with a 48MP 5x optical zoom periscope lens also capable of 10x hybrid zoom and 120x digital zoom. The 48MP ultra-wide angle camera is just as powerful, with the same Sony IMX586 sensor enabling it to capture a stunningly wide 128° field of view. This no-compromise hardware setup is underlaid with a powerful AI algorithm that efficiently corrects lens distortion to ensure optimal effect for landscape and group photos. 

Mi 11 Ultra builds on the legacy of previous generation smartphones, sporting both the highly-praised Dual Native ISO Fusion and Stagger-HDR technologies debuted by Mi 10 Ultra.  

The device performs just as brilliantly when shooting videos. All of the phone’s three cameras support 8K 24fps video, and the main camera supports Dolby Vision^® and HDR10+, ensuring excellent picture quality and accurate, dynamic light and shadow representation. 

120Hz quad-curved WQHD+ display with SOUND BY Harman Kardon 

Mi 11 Ultra is equipped with a 6.81” 120Hz WQHD+ Samsung AMOLED quad-curved DotDisplay crafted from E4 material. The display offers 1,700 nits peak brightness and can reproduce 1.07 billion colours, enabling softer and more natural colour gradation, less banding and a more vivid colour performance. A 3200 x 1440 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate combine to create an ultra-smooth, fast and detailed display. Encased in Corning^® Gorilla^® Glass Victus™, the display is also highly resistant to drops and scratches.  

Mi 11 Ultra offers an additional surprise with a secondary small display on the back. It not only doubles as an always-on display showing key information such as date, time and notifications, but can also act as a selfie mirror when taking pictures, further enhancing the user-friendliness and innovation of the device’s camera features. 

Audio on Mi 11 Ultra is as crystal clear as the image on the display, with the device adopting a dual speaker design and continuing the SOUND BY Harman Kardon collaboration started with Mi 11 for professional audio tuning. Building upon this strong foundation, Mi 11 Ultra has been designed with an even more powerful custom 1216P super-linear speaker unit on the bottom of the device, enabling it to reach 0.8mm max. amplitude, the loudest in the industry. With truly outstanding hardware configuration, smart scenario detection and a professional touch from a premium brand, Mi 11 Ultra can effortlessly adapt to different sound environments to provide optimal audio performance. 

100% battery within 36 minutes² with dual 67W wired and wireless turbo charging 

Mi 11 Ultra carries on this legacy with yet another breakthrough, featuring outstanding 67W wired and 67W wireless turbo charging technology, the latter currently being the fastest in the industry. Both can charge Mi 11 Ultra’s 5,000mAh large capacity battery to 100% within just 36 minutes², with virtually no time discrepancy between wired and wireless. 

Mi 11 Ultra features a self-developed 6x supercharge technology, a brand new 30V wireless charging integrated circuit, as well as a multi-level current control technology that allows for a 10% increase in charging speed¹. 

The battery in Mi 11 Ultra is built with an innovative new type of a material: second generation nano silicon oxide cathodes. This material possesses ten times the lithium-ion storage capacity of traditional graphite cathodes, efficiently increasing energy density and effectively solving issues with long circuits.  

Premium ceramic build with IP68 dust and water resistance 

Mi 11 Ultra is crafted with a premium ceramic back that lends a soft and comfortable feel in the palm of the hand and creates a gleaming, high-end look. The device is available in two stunning colours: Ceramic White and Ceramic Black. 

Mi 11 Ultra offers IP68 dust and water resistance rating². In order to achieve the IP68 standards, Mi 11 Ultra uses a high permeability pressure relief valve. The ceramic back on Mi 11 Ultra has a smaller unidirectional bend radius, reduced from 0.2mm to 0.1mm. The device was tested for resistance to immersion in fresh water for up to 1.5m in depth for 30 minutes, and have added charging port moisture alerts.

Mi 11 Ultra is powered by the flagship Qualcomm^® Snapdragon™ 888 mobile platform and comes with a lightning-fast LPDDR5 + UFS 3.1 storage combination. Along with the flagship specs, the mobile platform’s performance is boosted with a high-capacity heat dissipation system. Mi 11 Ultra debuts Xiaomi’s new three-phase cooling technology, which swaps the processor’s original thermal gel cover for a macromolecular phase change material that boasts higher efficiency and better wrap-around properties, increasing its thermal conductivity performance by 100%¹. With this three-phase cooling system, Mi 11 Ultra constantly and reliably delivers peak performance. Also featuring GameTurbo 4.0, Mi 11 Ultra offers a smooth and uninterrupted experience even for the most demanding games.
