This year the mobile network race gets even more exciting with the launch of 5G services across all networks in the UK.
EE who were first to launch 4G appear to be very close to launching their 5G network from reading a recent BT press release.
In case you didn’t know, BT are the parent company after purchasing EE for £12.5bn back in 2015.
After signing up partnerships with Samsung, Huawei, LG, OnePlus and HTC, you might not have long to wait if you want to get your hands on the latest generation network technology.
Whilst no pricing or launch date has been confirmed, the EE website now shows 5G across multiple sections to get the word out ahead of time and let customers know it’s coming soon.
Their social media platform is also full of 5G news and talk from the network and is a great place to watch for any updates.
EE have already confirmed the initial rollout locations for it’s 5G network in 2019, these are London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast, alongside Birmingham and Manchester.
Ten more cities will also see 5G during 2019, with Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds, Hull, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Coventry and Bristol.
In their recent results BT said:
- EE to launch 5G imminently and on track to go live in 16 cities in 2019 with a range of device partners
