EE confirmed as exclusive UK carrier for Oppo Reno 5G

Over in Zurich, Oppo have just announced European availability of their Oppo 5G device, and here in the UK it is EE who have managed to bag exclusivity.

The Oppo 5G features a large 6.6 inch display, triple camera on the back as well as a fin type selfie camera that opens via a built in motor.

The big seller though is the included 5G connectivity which EE say will roll out around Summer 2019, but as of yet has not announced any pricing or a confirmed date.

5G is the fifth generation mobile network rolling out this year and offers crazy speeds over 1Gbps.

EE exclusive network operator for the Oppo Reno 5G smartphone in the UK

April 24th 2019 EE, the UK’s biggest and fastest mobile network, today announced it will be the exclusive UK network operator when the Oppo Reno 5G smartphone comes to the UK later this year.

The Oppo Reno 5G packs a 6.6” FHD AMOLED display, a 4,065 mAh battery and a triple rear camera system. It also features a unique ‘shark fin’ pivot rising camera which gives the phone its impressive edge-to-edge display, with no notch or border. With 8GB or RAM and 256GB of memory, EE customers will be able to take full advantage of the Oppo’s cameras and high performance 64bit octa-core processor.

EE is switching on 5G in 16 UK cities in 2019. The first launch cities will be the UK’s four capital cities – London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast – and Birmingham and Manchester.

As well as the six launch cities, through 2019 EE will also be introducing 5G across the busiest parts of ten more UK cities: Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds, Hull, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Coventry and Bristol.

Sharon Meadows, Director of Devices, Partnerships & Business Development, EE, said: “EE customers with an Oppo Reno 5G will be able to get the most from our new super-fast, high capacity 5G network. Whether they are watching 4K content, trying out AR experiences or gaming with their friends, the Reno 5G will let them tap into the game-changing speeds and connectivity that 5G will bring.”
