Over on twitter today, O2 announced that they have started to sell another 5G smartphone on it’s network ready for the switch on in October.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G had been available on Vodafone since launch and is certainly one of the most affordable ways to get onto the 5G scene without needing to break the bank.
Right now O2 sell on a 4G plan and state on their site that you will need to change to a 5G SIM on a 5G plan and update the software once the service rolls out, not exactly a seamless experience, but good to allow customers access to the phone ahead of the switch on.
Looking at pricing it looks like pricing starts from £40 a month based on a 36 month agreement with just 1GB of data, with 60GB costing £54 at present.
Of course one of the benefits of O2 Custom Plans is being able to fully customise your plan in length, upfront charge as well as data so if 3 years is too long to wait, you can even drop down to 12 months if you don’t mind the extremely high monthly cost.
The overall cost for the phone comes in at £680 if you want to purchase without a plan, and whilst that is a lot of money, it certainly is cheaper than the £1000 alternatives from Huawei and Samsung.
Head on over to the O2 store to order your own phone now with next day delivery.
